FormatMatch

FormatMatch is a menu-bar app for Mac. When you copy text, it removes the fonts, colors, and styling so the text pastes to match its surroundings.

How it works

• It runs quietly in the menu bar and cleans text as you copy it.
• Copied URLs and file links are kept. Links embedded in formatted text become plain text. Images copied on their own, and copies that contain no formatted text, are left alone; an image bundled inside formatted text is removed along with the formatting.
• Items marked as secret by password managers are never read or changed.
• You can exclude apps, set a keyboard shortcut to turn FormatMatch on or off, keep formatting for the next copy from the menu, and choose whether it starts at login.

Privacy

FormatMatch works entirely on your Mac. It keeps no clipboard history and makes no network connections. Read the privacy policy.
